A cycle of workshops dealing with audio applied electronics
The fee is 50€ per workshop and 120€ for the whole cycle. All materials and tools are included.
Places are limited and we maintain a strict policy of accepting reservations in the order in which they are received.
Reservations: diegoeldeleon@gmail.com
This cycle consists of three hands-on workshops intended for artists who are concerned that they don’t have the necessary knowledge in electronics to be able to construct their own tools.
Each participant will produce a small sound generator during each workshop.
These instruments are designed so as to be connected to each other, as well as to computers and other electronic instruments by way of a small modular system.
Practical alternatives to consumer electronics will also be dealt with, by taking advantage of, insofar as it is possible, recycled sound resources and circuit bending.
Each of these intensive workshops will last approximately 6 hours, with a break halfway through for lunch.
They will start at 11h00 and finish up in the evening/night.

Workshop 1 Saturday 13-06-09 “Build your own Theremin.”
Construction of one of the most simple variants of the famous instrument invented by Lev Termen in 1919. “The instrument that is played without being touched.”
-
Workshop 2 Saturday 25-07-09 “Build your own synthesizer.”
This machine has many of the same features as the standard synthesizer such as LFO, envelope generator and VCO, as well as an input for connecting musical instruments or the theremin proposed in the preceding workshop.

Workshop 3 Saturday 19-09-09 “Building a sequencer.” This project involves creating a generator of rhythmic patterns, capable of handling both analogue synthesizers and any type of audio signal (like a slicer does). It is therefore useful for interconnecting the previous machines and circuit bending creations.
