Hangar – Kernel Festival residency programme: Mirko Quarzo
The project ” ” by Mirko Quarzo was awared with a one month residency in Hangar by the Kernel Festival in the category of temporary architecture.
The project asserts the possibility to share cultural knowledge of a civilization that is relating with realities so far from itself.
The project involves the construction of a slide made of a bamboo structure that recovers traditional Chinese techniques used in the building industry, combining them with the use of technical fabrics of western production.
The choice of build a slide-structure was determined by the need to create an aggregative, ephemeral and nomadic architecture proposing an over-cultural situation which is linked to universal emotions.
