Hangar participates in the European Consortium IMAGIT together with the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design – HfG (Karlsruhe, Germany) coordinator of the project, Brainz (Prague, Txec Republic) and the Hungarian University of Fine Arts – HUFA (Budapest, Hungary).

IMAGIT is a reaction to the urgent need to merge innovative communication models with our cultural values. A lot of theorists with an impact of today’s social and cultural sciences criticise that pragmatism and functionalism have taken over our way of thinking. Everything that is not considered predictable takes the risk to be considered unreasonable. Communicating predominantly on a written basis fits perfectly into this linear structured thread. However we have a lot of other abilities and resources that we can use than just our rationality. Especially new technologies offer several possibilities. IMAGIT takes these critical voices seriously and therefore it conceives itself as a technological open platform for collaborative and creative communication.

The project will be developed between October 2015 and December 2017 and has the support of the European Comission through the Creative Europe programme.
