Resolution of MEMBRANA_2

We are pleased to announce that Gabriel S. Moses and Adam Etzion are the winners of MEMBRANA 2. The residence, under the European project IMAGIT, will take place in Hangar from March 15 to May 15, 2017.

The artists’ project will explore how the narratives embedded in the interface are key to keep the user producing and consuming information on a constant basis. The project is based on identifying and interrupting prefabricated stories within the design and operation of some of the most widely used interfaces at the global level to reveal dangers, apparently nonexistent, within contemporary digital culture and suggest subversive and disruptive solutions.

Gabriel S Moses, 1982, is an interpreter and media artist with a millennium complex based in Berlin. In other words, he knows how to lie about why he lied and likes to come up with things about what your kids are saying about you on their smartphones behind your back. He also has a Masters (UdK Berlin) and has presented in Transmediale (Berlin), Lenbachhaus (Munich) and FILE (Sao Paulo). In 2014, his Enhancement project won the 1st prize at the ‘Anthropocene’ conference at HKW Berlin.

Adam Etzion, 1987, is a writer and researcher based in Tel Aviv. His research revolves mainly around literary science fiction, metafiction, narrative theory and interactive narrative. In other words, he is interested in self-absorption. He currently holds a BA in English Literature at Tel Aviv University and has co-organized and produced multiple cultural events around Israel that deal with the intersection of science fiction, art, culture and technology.
