Montserrat Soto’s artwork has been developed through photography and installations in many series. She focuses on space, place and landscape, with the void as the predominant element. Museum warehouses and collector’s houses have been the axis of many of her series, where she analyzes the place of art.
Her exhibition activity starts in 1989, but it was in 1990 when she did her first solo exhibition in Centre d’Art Alexandre Cirici, Hospitalet (Barcelona). Among her recent shows, we found those realised in Casa de Cultura de España (México D.F., 2003), Koldo Mitxelena (San Sebastián, y Fundación Telefónica, Madrid, 2004), MNCARS (Madrid, 2005) or Centre d’Art La Panera (Lleida, 2006), Centro de Arte Santa Mónica (CASM, Barcelona) and Museo Patio Herreriano (Valladolid, 2007), Fundación Lázaro Galdiano (Madrid, 2009) and Museo de Zaragoza (2010).
