Soft/hardware and interaction lab

Beyond the fact that Hangar bases its entire IT infrastructure on open source systems, the center’s commitment to this is reflected in the following services open to artists:

Hardware development

Hangar is involved in the development of custom hardware for artistic projects from a commitment to open source hardware and software.
Through the soft/hardware and interaction Lab, Hangar can develop all types of hardware for artistic projects that require it, including development of internal electronics, programming and prototyping. Some examples of applications include real-time interaction, synchronization, mechanisms, automation and remote controls.
This Lab also develops and shares a set of royalty free tools, available for artistic projects that may need them.

Hangar offers consulting services for artists who are developing a project with open source hardware or software and who know the techniques, but need support to solve problems, reorient the development of an idea or explore technical alternatives. Consulting services are arranged by appointment.
