Open call for Hangar’s residency programme January – July 2013

Hangar launches an open call for hosting artists of any nationality who need the services, the accommodation and the context that the center provides for the development of their research and / or artistic production projects.

The residency:

Hangar has a residency for artists, which is located in the old house of the guard of the industrial complex. The building has two floors of 80,99m2 and 62,59 m2. Each floor contains two double bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen. The residency has also access to a garden.

Addressed to:

Artists, curators and theorists of all ages and nationalities. Groups up to four people.

Disciplines:

Visual arts, experimental music, artistic research and interdisciplinary projects.

Resources provided by Hangar:

Hangar will provide the following resources for the artist:

- Accommodation.

- An individual table in a shared space in Hangar.

- Free consultancy for the project development.

- Dissemination of the project on the website and organisation of a public presentation.

- 20% discount for all the production services.

Maintenance fee:

The artist will contribute to the maintenance of the residency paying a fee for covering the electricity, water and internet costs.

Fees:

- Accommodation: 350 euros per month or 120 euros for a week.

- Accommodation and table: 400 euros per month or 190 euros for a week.

Calendar and duration:

This open call is for carrying out residencies during the first half of 2013 (January to June inclusive) with a duration between one week and three months.

Selection criteria:

The selection will be done by the Hangar’s programme committee and some members of the staff of the center. They will take in consideration the artist’s resumé, the motivation, the viability of the proposal and its adaptation to the resources and the collaborators network of the center.

Deadline for the applications and date of the resolution:

The deadline for applications is the 22nd of October, 2012.

The results of the selection will be announced in the first week of November 2012.
