Design and research lab: Bodies and spaces connected by the pandemic. Session #3

This laboratory includes different sessions and it takes shape as a collaborative research in order to identify the transformations in relationships, perceptions and dynamics that were established after the Covid19 pandemic and that persist to this day.

It will consist of different activities proposed by the facilitators Citlali Hernández, Núria Nia (from the collective Matics) and Silvia Bernard, who will dynamise the collective process of designing a probe device from the first phase of its sketch, its prototype and its subsequent testing. This probe device will be focused on discovering the personal and social implications of the new spheres of design as a result of the hyperconnectivity of bodies and spaces forced by Covid19.

The people involved in this design and research laboratory will be part of the ongoing research of Citlali Hernández, Silvia Bernad and Núria Nia in the framework of the project Acting in Emergency: Rethinking Design Agency during (and after) Covid-19. An open and public research programme on the possibilities of design (and the creative thinking that nourishes and accompanies it) in relation to the emergencies posed by the effects of the present crisis, but also a longer-term view with the intention of offering different routes to those that have led us to where we are.

A project coordinated by GREDITS (Research Group on Design and Social Transformation), attached to BAU, with the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome.

This is a free and open workshop aimed at people interested in collective design, research in art and design or anyone interested in sharing their experience of the new relationship formats that have emerged in the wake of Covid-19.

It is possible to participate in one or more sessions with no age limit. It is not necessary to have attended the previous sessions in order to participate.
