Sylvie Marchand and Felix Nybergh presents their works at Hangar
December 12th at 7pm in Hangar
LE CONTINENT ROUGE is an installation connected to a sound walk.
It was born from meetings between Sylvie Marchand and Raràmuri poets and dancers of the Sierra Tarahumara, Mexico.
The artistic statement questions the ritual roots of art that interweave the traditionally segmented western artistic “disciplines”.
The creation process activates relations between the western sound poetry and the oral literature of the Tarahumaras. The art work links the art of performance with today’s Raràmuri dance.
The sensibility and connectivity of programmed digital texts connect the fields of experimentation and creation privileged by Gigacircus: images (photo, video, animation), audio, geolocation technologies, text and the interactive scenographic space.
This work is a collaboration between artist collectives:
Gigacircus (FR), Fábrica Cósmica (MX), Escoitar (SP), the founders of which are artists (respectively: cinema, music, performance) and anthropologists.
