Francine Lalonde
Francine Lalonde
Francine Lalonde studied Fine Arts at Concordia University and at UQAM and translation at Université de Montréal. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions in various artist-run centres and galleries in Montreal and Canada, and also in Barcelona, where she was part of a Quebec-Catalonia exchange in 2004. She participates regularly in government public art programs to integrate art into architecture in Montreal and regionally, and since 2000, she has been teaching in the fine arts department at Collège Édouard-Montpetit. She lives and works in Montreal.
She is fascinated by space and how it is organized and the physical experience of moving through it. Each place she works in appears to her as both a support for drawing in space and a volume to be redistributed, where she analyze the components: architectural elements, dimensions and the relationship of scale and proximity.
