Javier Viver is Doctor in Fine Arts at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). He has exhibited his work at the Centro Nacional de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, The Queens Museum of Art, New York, Instituto Cervantes, New York, Location One Gallery, New York, Galleria Nazionale d´Arte Moderna, Rome, Conde Duque Art Center, Madrid, Casa de América, Madrid, La Casa Encendida, Madrid and La Recoleta Art Center, Buenos Aires.
He has received awards as the Marcelino Botín Foundation Fine Arts Grant, The Círculo de Bellas Artes Grant, Madrid, The Academia de España in Rome Grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, The Swatch Art Peace Hotel Residency Program invitation, The 1st Photography Award. Young Art Contest, the Madrid City Council, The 2004 Fine Arts Award from the Madrid County, The Purificación García Photography Award and The Generación 2002 and 2007 Awards.
