Sonic Totem

Floy Krouchi (bass) teams up with Devin Brahja (saxophone, NYC) to present the first activation of the Sonic Totem at life performance on Friday 8th at 7pm.

Sonic Totem is a sculpture of wood, metal and horn that integrates a series of interactive speakers. It stands in the middle of a virtual circular space, where the viewers can rotate around 360°. The space is divided into four zones, recalling the four cardinal points and the four primordial elements. The Totem has a circular crown of ultrasonic distance sensors, which analyze motion and shoot and modulate different series of sounds according to procedures that mix need and randomness.
