Audio Formal/ Listening politics
Audio Formal is the platform for experimentation, dissemination and training around sound creation that, from Hangar, brings together all the projects, exhibitions, presentations or sonic activities resulting from the lines of work of the center and its Inhabitants and Orbiters.
Sound experimentation — with a long tradition in the city of Barcelona — has intersected with new performative practices, which together with the effervescent DIY and computer music scenes, as well as live coding among others, have driven many new projects, exhibitions, workshops or listening sessions in Hangar, increasing and specifying new audiences.
Heir to Hangar Sonor, Audio Formal is the response to the exponential growth of sound research by the different users of Hangar and the artistic context in general. It also articulates a common project between collectives that, for some years, have been linked to Hangar programming activities independently.
Audio Formal is nothing physical, nor does it have an appearance or mail, it only gives name to the set of internal and external activities related to sound, which Hangar includes in its public program.
