Pluriversidad Nómada
Pluriversidad Nómada was born out of the desire to create a loving space and context in which to develop practices and debates around the issues that affect us every day. It is a space that seeks to question the umbrella of ‘art, science and technology’ in order to densify its use by placing it in a material context. For Pluriversidad Nómada, these three words serve as an excuse to plan other modes of radical pedagogy that defy the mandates of the academy and the supposed universality of modern Western knowledge in order to enable pluriversal thinking and action.
This project emerges from a specific and situated political, creative and vital experience. We found ourselves years ago in Barcelona, a city where we were not born, participating in spaces where art and politics intersect. The new ways of doing that Pluriversidad presents are related to these experiences, where the ways of relating to each other, collective creation, internationalist connections, migrant life and nomadic work condition particular ways of responding to certain embodied practices: such as work with the body, dissident identities, instances of radical self-management, vital precariousness. This is where our experiences and knowledge come from, and it seems relevant to us to give them a place as part of the agents that feed and nourish this current project from the ground up.
Pluriversidad Nómada is a pedagogical project that resists monoculture, rhizomatic, semi-autonomous and nomadic, seeking to move from a universal knowledge to a pluriversity of meanings and knowledge at the intersection of the arts, technosciences and ecologies.
In Pluriversidad Nómada we run workshops, courses, publish texts and pedagogical content through seven institutes: 1. In April 2024 we published our first book ‘The Material Dimension of Clouds’, a compilation of texts that present narratives around sciences, technologies, extractivism, the relationship with (so-called) ‘natural resources’ and between (human and non-human) bodies, the living and the so-called non-living. With this book we have started a publishing project under the imprint of Pluri Ediciones.
