BOCA

BOCA is a cultural programme created by and for teenagers.

This award-winning programme is aimed at young people in Barcelona and offers them the opportunity to learn how to design and produce a music festival created by and for teenagers. It is a project that promotes participatory culture and empowers adolescent cultural agency.

Working alongside professionals and mentors from the music industry, participants co-create a unique experience for the city’s youth through a collective process. This co-creation methodology is applied in school settings, beyond school, and in research and investigation contexts.

The BOCA project has gained recognition for its innovative approach.

It is based on experimentation, active listening and cultural mediation to ensure diversity and inclusion in a space for personal and collective growth.

It is a city-wide project.

BOCA is much more than a festival; it is a space for cultural exchange and social transformation, championing the talent, voice and cultural rights of Barcelona’s teenage population. BOCA aims to leave a transformative mark on the city by fostering creativity and reinforcing social participation.
