Results of the Call for a Research Residency at Centrale Fies in Dro, Italy
The jury, made up of Barbara Boninsegna (Artistic Director of Centrale Fies), Simone Frangi (Associate Curator of the Live Works Free School of Performance at Centrale Fies) and Veronica Valentini (Head of International Residency Programmes and Research Networks at Hangar), selected Juana Dolores Romero Casanova for a research and creation residency at Centrale Fies in Dro, Italy, with her project PASOLINI ERA BELLO DA MORIRE.
Conceived as a performative device integrating words, images, analogue and digital technologies, poetry and actions, the proposal engages with the subversive, political and aesthetic imagination of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s films. It explores desire, dissent, and the continued relevance of his ideas in an increasingly desensitised world. The jury highlighted the strength of Juana Dolores’s approach and the interdisciplinary nature of her artistic practice, which aligns with Centrale Fies’s research and production lines.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the call and congratulate Juana Dolores on her selection.
