Mariana Zamarbide

Mariana Zamarbide was born in Santa Rosa, Argentina in 1976. She currently lives and works in Barcelona. BA in Visual Arts from the Instituto Universitario Nacional de Arte of Buenos Aires y C.F.S. Sculpture, Escola Massana, Barcelona. She has also taken part in group exhibitions such as La Gran Aventura (Barcelona), Loop Festival’11 (Barcelona), Art For Life/Art For Living, SWAB (Barcelona), Doméstica’10, (Barcelona), L’ignot d’un mateix (Portbou), Pulsions in La Capella (Barcelona); Through (installation) in the National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. During 2008 she presented the installation Descansar in Buenos Aires. In the years before she was selected for FemArt 06 and 07 and Off Loop’06 (Videoart, Barcelona). She also participated in the 2nd Bienal de Arte Joven, UBA, (Buenos Aires); AlterArte, Universidad de Barcelona; Provisorio, Antigua Casa de la Moneda, (Buenos Aires) and Stripart, (Barcelona). She presented her artwork in many individual exhibitions like Rastros in Buenos Aires and El Cuerpo en la Ciudad, in Casa Groga, (Barcelona). During 2008 she had her first Residence in TallerBDN (Badalona). As well she took part of the Hweilan International Artist Workshop’09 in Taiwan. Actually she is an Artist-in-Residence in Hangar, Barcelona.
