Last days to apply to M.A.L (Mobile Art Lab)
Deadline July 20th, Open call aimed to artists, programmers and groups working in new media or multimedia. Applicants must be EU residents. Their line of production and research must ascribe to the following fields: mobile phones, locative media, augmented reality and social networks.
From October 17th to October 21, 2011 the workshop will take place in Hangar and 17 al 21 d’octubre de 2011 a Hangar.The workshop will consist in the development of four artistic projects framed in the fields mentioned above. Three mentors will assist conceptually the projects. In addition three computer programmers will provide the technical support.
Members of the Jury:
Antoni Abad, artist and founder of megafone.net. Since 2003 is focused in this project where he has been inviting groups of people on the fringe of society to express their experiences and opinions through face-to-face editorial meetings and mobile phones. With canal ACCESSIBLE he recieved the Golden Nica Digital Communities del Prix Ars Electronica and the Premi Nacional d’Arts Visuals de la Generalitat de Catalunya mainstream media.In 2009 he recieved the Innovae price from FECYT Spanis Foundation of Science and Technology.
Roc Parès,Artist and researcher in Interactive Communication. Ph. in Audiovisual Communication, 2001 UPF. Head of Màster en Arts Digitals (MAD) and professor ofl Interdisciplinary Master in Cognitive Systems and Interactive
Media (CSIM), Universitat Pompeu Fabra UPF. His research articles have been published by the British Computer Society, Academic Press and MIT Press, among others.Els seus articles

Sander Veenhof, artists and researcher, his work focuses on new models of interaction. His work "Battling pavilions" is being shown at the AR pavillion created by the collective Manifest.AR which is a member.

Free software node and technology area manager of hangar as specialized programmer in techonologies applied to art creation and on-line communication in real time. PureData developer (Applications, VJ, dance, computer vision, streaming, locative media, and others.)
This call of M.A.L. workshop is part of the European cultural cooperation project on mobility, art, new technologies and urban realities MOB.
