Funding Inspiration at the Intersection of Arts, Science and Technology

On June 26, HacTe hosts the workshop Funding Inspiration at the Intersection of Arts, Science and Technology at Hangar, an intensive hands-on session designed to empower artists working with digital and scientific environments to navigate the European funding landscape.

Led by cultural strategist Aurélie Delater and artist-curator Roos Dessing, the 4-hour workshop will guide participants through the intricacies of open calls for transdisciplinary residencies. Through a series of collaborative exercises and peer-to-peer evaluations, attendees will learn to decode open calls and craft compelling artistic proposals aligned with European programmes such as S+T+ARTS and Creative Europe.

The workshop emphasizes active participation, small group work, and real-world practice. Artists will leave with practical tools, increased confidence, and a resource kit including templates and checklists to support future applications.

Programme
1. Overview of funding opportunities for artists: presentation of European programmes and recommendation of platforms to consult
2. How calls for projects are built: focusing on project calls for transdisciplinary residencies or programmes, including presentation of the different formats, examples of calls currently open and the analysis of their structure
3. Critical steps before writing: checklist and recommendations
4. Writing a winning application: practical group exercises
5. Conclusion and Q&A
