may - june 2025
Arash Fayez is an interdisciplinary artist whose work focuses on image-making and the exploration of the notion of “the in-between.” He was born in Tehran, studied Fine Arts at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, and currently lives in Barcelona. His academic background includes a Master of Fine Arts from the same institution and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Tehran.
Fayez has presented his work at major international institutions such as Kadist (San Francisco), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Musée du quai Branly (Paris), the British Museum (London), the Wattis Institute (California), MACBA, and La Virreina Centre de la Imatge (Barcelona). Through his exhibitions and performances, he explores the boundaries between visual art, culture, and history, addressing themes of memory, identity, and conflict.
Arash Fayez was one of the participating artists in the exhibition Panorama 21. Notes for an Eye Fire, held at the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) in 2022. This exhibition was part of the Panorama cycle, which brings together contemporary artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to reflect on questions such as identity, time, and memory.
