Workshop given by Sophie Whettnall
Coinciding with her exhibition in Espai 13, at the Fundación Joan Miró, the artist Sophie Whettnall is giving a workshop in Hangar in which video artists will have to use the following three questions as a starting point: How would they represent themselves nowadays?, What do they want to say about themselves? and How do they feel in the reality that surrounds them? Medium, self-identity and social elements are the conceptual bases for a work that will be developed jointly over the course of the workshop. During the first two days a joint discussion will take place on the different projects that are put forward, while the last two days will be taken up with creating a video, performance or installation. The last session will take place in the Fundación Joan Miró during which the the students’ work will be presented to the public, alongside a tour of Sophie Whettnall’s exhibition conducted by the artist herself and TRES, the curator of the exhibit.
