Rarefacció 2020

This 2020 has begun hard, unrelenting and will surely be one of the most important years of the century and of our lives. From Hangar we want to give encouragement to all those people who have lost friends or family. And also remember our colleagues in the field who have left us.

In its second edition, Rarefacció 2020 wanted to give continuity to a humble program of listening to sound proposals difficult to see in our city. Artists from different backgrounds that, in pairs, would articulate five days of electronic music. These were chosen taking into account a common node; “the non-conformity with any of the limits granted by their own identity”. We are talking, then, about authors who are constantly reviewing their methodologies to find new ways of building their story.

It has not been possible, the Covid has stopped us all and everything, forcing us to move calendars when it has been possible and to cancel, as in this case, when we have had no choice. So, with some sadness but knowing that this is the best decision we had in hand, the 2020 edition of Rarefacció 2020 has been cancelled.

For this reason, we want to share with you the performances of the first edition in 2019, an edition that we remember with much appreciation for the good reception of the public, the quality of the proposals and the magic that was generated in an atmosphere of intimate but shared listening.

Before this, we also wanted to share the proposals for the 2020 edition as well as the graphic image of the programme built by Marta Salom. We want to acknowledge all of them for their work and understanding in this difficult decision. And we hope to see them and their instruments as soon as possible.
