Carole Diop. Dakar, 1985

Architect and curator based in Dakar, Carole Diop is the co-founder of the contemporary art magazine Afrikadaa. For over five years, she has been offering architectural tours to help various audiences discover the city in an original way, where Dakar becomes a vast exhibition space to explore. Carole teaches architectural history at the University College of Architecture of Dakar (CUAD) and cartography at the Pan-African Polytechnic Institute. She is also advancing her architectural career, with projects including the Place of Urban Cultures, an infrastructure featuring a 1000 m2 Skate Park, designed in collaboration with the firm CONSTRUCTO and designer Bibi Seck. Since December 2023, Carole has been a member of the board of the Order of Architects of Senegal (ODAS), responsible for research and heritage.
