DU-DA (Sarai Cumplido and Clara Piazuelo)
Artistic residency exchange between CEEAC and Hangar
December 2023
DU-DA is a collective focused on mediation, research, and artistic production, currently composed of Sarai Cumplido and Clara Piazuelo, and co-founded in 2019 together with Belén Soto and Sonia G. Villar. All their projects have a relational component, activate collective processes, and often resonate with sensitivities that are also critical of hegemonic power structures. They question our ways of cohabiting in order to imagine other possible present-futures.
During their residency at CEAAC – the European Centre for Contemporary Artistic Actions in Strasbourg – they focused on their interest in issues related to death and its management, both in private and public spheres. Their stay was dedicated to the development of the project Morir Guay, which explores discourses and practices around the end of life.
