Gimnasia duramadre, with Idoia Zabaleta
A warm-up is a kind of vestibule, an lobby, a foyer. It is a preamble, a prologue, a prelude, a preface. It is a series of preliminary caresses to prepare the senses. To tune in. It is an entrance, where the key questions for entering something come together. How do I look? how do I hear? how do I smell? how do I touch? how do I feel? To taste is to make a mouth. For if attention requires engagement, perception requires massage.
The workshop, Gimnasia duramadre is an invitation to prepare the senses to be ready to enter informally into the materials we are working with, both our own and those of our companions.
As in any gymnastics class, we will do a series of exercises to strengthen the eyes, hands, ears and heart. As in any duramadre class, we will do a series of exercises to soften the sight, touch, hearing and passion.
The warm-up will be calm, it will be easy, it will be serene.
Gimnasia duramadre is a practice guided by Idoia Zabaleta. This is the first occasion for the collective opening of the periodic meetings stemmed by the Resonance Team in its 2023/2024 edition, for which we are fortunate to count with Rossella Biscotti, Alberto Peral and Idoia Zabaleta herself.
