Jaume Pitarch is a Catalan artist who lives and works in Barcelona. In 1993 he received a degree in Fine Arts by the Chelsea College of Art, London, in 1995 and earned a Master of the Royal College of Art in London.
Work the issue of loss as inherent to the human aspect. He usually works with man-made elements. Elements that have helped to get an idea of himself and the world around him. Dismantled and reconstructed elements to create new works.
He has made numerous exhibitions internationally and nationally, among them we can highlight has had solo exhibitions in: Angels Barcelona (2013, 2009, 2004.1997); Fúcares Gallery, Madrid (2013, 2008); Spencer Brownstone Gallery, New York (2013, 2009, 2006) or Galerija Vartai, Lithuania, 2011. His work has been selected for exhibitions in galleries and institutions such as: Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art, Portugal; Artium; MASS MoCA, Massachusetts; Manifesto; Centre d’Art Santa Monica, Barcelona; Fondation Maeght, Saint Paul, France; Musée d’Art Contemporain, Lyon; Carré d’Art Contemporain, Nimes or MACBA, Barcelona, among others. His work is part of public and private collections including the collection of the MACBA Collection La Caixa, Artium, Bergé Collection, the Museum Patio Herreriano or the collection of the Royal College of Art London, among others.
