Jonathan Millán Solsona
Spain, 1976
Period of residence: April 2013 – April 2014
Jonathan Millán studied Fine Arts, going from painting to multidisciplinary contemporary art. His aim is to “communicate with others in a clear and close way”, so he searched a more free and intuitive way to communicate the complex, poetic and humorous ideas from art. From this interest, raised the book “Hervir un oso” as the result of the collaboration with Miguel Noguera. From this moment, his work was linked to the publishing industry, working in “Cultura/s” from La Vanguardia, the publisher Blackie Books, Fotogramas magazine and many books.
From 2011, after an exhibition with David Betsué and Marc Vives at Estrany de la Mota gallery, he reconciled with the art world, and started to develop an artistic work free from the weigh of his school education, and based on the dialogue between small sculptures and video.
