Ariadna Guiteras is the artist selected to participate in the Night of the Museums, Castell de Montjuic – Hangar

A jury formed by: Lúa Coderch, Irina Mutt, Juan Canela and Pep Dardanyà (Programme Committe) and Tere Badia (Director of Hangar) have decided to select the following artists and projects for the Nit dels Museums, Castell de Montjuic – Hangar:

Ariadna Guiteras (Tortuga)

And as a finalist and substitute Ciprian Homorodean (Welcome).

“Tortuga” by Ariadna Guiteras is a large-scale performance. A choreography that focuses on the sinuous tension of bodies in relation to other bodies, in space and matter, focusing on the tacit violence of relationships of power, resistance and seduction.

From the mass control strategies used by the Spanish National Police and moving them to the perimeter of the castle of Montjuic, “Tortuga” takes advantage of an event with a large influx of public as is the Night of Museums, to intervene in a space where control technologies materialize in the walls themselves. The public will be questioned by different human formations along the perimeter of the castle, altering its movement, sometimes impeding the passage, sometimes allowing it, with the will to melt the bodies with the stone, and control with affection, without distinction.
