“Luchas de mujeres en la Barcelona precaria. Las kellys”: Hamaca online exhibition
From May 18 to October 7, 2018, the online exhibition “Luchas de mujeres en la Barcelona precaria. Las kellys”, formed by pieces from the archive of the collective in the Hamaca residence, can be visited on the La Virreina website. In the exhibition you can see works by María Ruido, Precarias a la Deriva, Pedro Ortuño and Estíbaliz Sadaba.
Curated by Las Kellys Barcelona and the collective Pan y Rosas, “Luchas de mujeres en la Barcelona precaria. Las kellys”, invites us to understand the relationship between the increase in the feminization of work and precarious work, which originates in the labor model of Spanish capitalism configured in the eighties and nineties. The collective Las Kellys Barcelona and the self-organized hotel maids, defy this work model that they call or suffer as “outsourcing” and that have been lowering the working conditions and precarizing the work and life of millions of people.
The exhibition is the second online exhibition designed specifically for the website of La Virreina after Malas Calles, inaugurated at the end of 2017.
The exhibition can be seen here.
