Results of the 2024 Production Grant
The Selection Committee, made up of Laura Benítez (researcher and independent curator), Eva Fàbregas (artist and member of the Hangar’s Board of Trustees) and Pense-Joan Febrer and Esther Doblas (members of the Hangar team), has decided to award the 2024 Production Grant to Inés Cámara Leret and the Production Grant reserved for an artist in residence at the Centre to Huaqian Zhang.
Inés Cámara’s proposal, Simsalabim, is an interdisciplinary project that explores hegemonic narratives of environmental conservation, cultural heritage and contemporary technologies through the study of ‘La Milenaria’, the oldest tree on the peninsula.
The Hiuqian Fun Palace project is inspired by the work of the same name, designed in 1961 by Cedric Price and Joan Littlewood, which proposes a fictional building that uses new technologies to adapt to the needs of its visitors. It is a learning machine based on knowledge-pleasure, where work and leisure come together in the same space.
We would like to thank the 96 individuals and collectives who applied and congratulate the winning artists.
