Results of the call for for one-month residency programme in Stockholm
The selection committee, composed of Anna Manubens, director of Hangar, Veronica Valentini, responsible for international residency and research programs, Marti Manen, director of Index, Isabella Tjäder, curator and producer at Index, Sara Rossling, and Emily Berry Mennerdahl from NKF, has decided to select Ibai Gorriti as a finalist for a residency at Index and NKF (Stockholm), and to Ezequiel Soriano Gómez as a reserve in case the finalist cancels.
Ibai Gorriti’s Trabajo Textual project investigates performative writing through the notion of ‘Parrhesia’ problematized by Michael Foucault, as well as the political-artistic vehicle of the manifesto as a form of cultural critique and essay on other collective strategies of participation, survival, and institutional liberation from the boundaries of correctness and respectability. The context of the retrospective of Vaginal Davis’ work offers a historical framework in which to explore the abject, punk, underground, mad, queer, racialized, and its parody, satire, or ‘drag’.
We would like to thank all the participants in the call and wish Ibai Gorriti all the best for his residency in Stockholm.
Between Barcelona and Stockholm, May 3, 2024.
