Call: Humedal II
Wetlands all over the planet are disappearing. Barcelona is becoming more and more arid, so we invite you to a collective residence to regenerate the wetlands of the laboratory. It is also about opening the space to local inhabitants to activate the most micro and everyday fabric of the city.
For two weeks the Wetlab will become a wetland that will host bodies, practices, tools and concepts that will ferment collective projects and knowledge. Wetlands understood as transition zones between the terrestrial and aquatic worlds, source of water and diversity, floodplain and microscopic life. The Wetlab as a zone that hosts practices that disrupt the boundaries between arts and sciences, generating new epistemological and methodological tools -situated and critical- to broaden our perspective of what we consider ecology, extractivism, transhackfeminist practices and colonial relations within the lab.
The collective residency has two stages:
* First week: we will explore techniques, tools and practices that we develop in the Hangar wetlab, such as bacterial and fungal culture, essential oils, extractions, microscopy, oracles, critical conceptualization of taxonomies, questioning of western scientific thought, living technologies, etc.
* Second week: we will generate contents and collective experiences. We will work on some topics and practices of interest that the residents have raised. They will work collectively while contributing their individual input to the process. This is a moment of reciprocity.
Throughout the residency there will be talks, interventions and extra workshops by invited people who will accompany the process.
Requirements:
– Open call addressed to people living in the city of Barcelona or rural and non-rural surroundings of Catalonia, who are interested in art and science practices from a trans*feminist and anticolonial point of view. To participate in this residency it is NOT necessary to have previous experience in arts or science, but a commitment to attend all the sessions during the two weeks.
– Seven (7) participants will be selected by open call, of which at least half will be migrants and/or racialized people.

It is not necessary to send a bio but we need to know why you are interested in this residency. Please include a website if you have one.
