Digital Scoreboards and Mobile Devices Workshop

IDENSITAT, in collaboration with HANGAR and the Equadorean Association of Equavolley in Catalonia organises a workshop for building and programming digital scoreboards and mobile devices, aimed to be used in ecuavoley (modality of volleyball played in Ecuador) matches.

The workshop is set as an exercise where creativity and digital technologies will be applied to sports and community development. It is conceived as a space for negotiation and learning between participants, whom will have to exchange their own skills and knowledge.

Aim of the workshop:

– To build and program –together with a transdisciplinary team- prototypes of digital scoreboards to be used in equavolley matches.

Brainstorming and design of the scoreboard. Planning schedule for further construction.

Alex Posada (Digital Creator and Researcher in the field of Interactivity and New Media), Befaco.org (Artists association resident in Hangar, whose aim is giving support to electronic musicians who have the need to build up their own tools), Ramon Parramon (Artist, Curator, Director of ACVic, Centre d’Arts Contemporànies and Director and Funder of IDENSITAT), Gaspar Maza Gutiérrez (Antrhopologist, Lecturer at URV, and coordinator of the project Plan A+D at the Spanish Sports Council), Xavi Camino (Anthropologist and Lecturer at ELISAVA), Roser Caminal (Artist), and members of de Equadorean Association of Equavolley in Catalonia (organisation that works for inclusion and social cohesion through the practice of equavolley).

Organisers:

HANGAR and IDENSITAT. Artistic project that investigates ways to influence public space through creative proposals, in relation to the site and the territory, from a physical and a social dimension. The organisation is set up as a production and research network which, through art, experiences new ways of involvement and interaction with social contexts. www.idensitat.net
