HANGAR PARTICIPATES IN PRBB’S OPEN DAY
Hangar participates in the PRBB (Barcelona Biomedical Research Park) in a set of interactive multimedia exhibitions created in collaboration with the centre for biomedical research.
Researchers and artists have worked together in order to obtain advanced multimedia projects that are attractive to the public, and that have been developed under educational and informative criteria. The "capture" of faces using microarray technology, a game of diversity using augmented reality and a musical composition that uses the diversity of presences, are the proposals that will be presented.
The interactive projects made by Hangar show the centre’s specialisation in new models for artistic production. In the past years, the centre has been working on research projects and experimental projects, placing an emphasis on the potential of interactive media, making new artworks and exploring the possibilities of new technology and its merging with other disciplines. Hangar is thus involved in the development of tools that are tailor-made for specific art projects, with a commitment to using open source software and machinery, and to R&D.
The Open day will take place on Saturday 2nd of Octeber at the PRBB venue -Charles Darwin Square in Barcelona-, where the proposals about genetic diversity, which is the theme the exhibition revolves around, will be presented, keeping in mind that we are in the interntaional year of biodiversity and the coming together of cultures.
