Ancient Tools for Advanced Communications
On Monday, November 7, Hangar invites the music label Tecnologías Elementales as the first activation of the new shared library. The meeting will also serve as a presentation — and celebration — of Caja Negra Editora as an orbiting collective of the center.
We will open the night with a conversation between Ezequiel Fanego and Diamin (Elemental Technologies), Marta Echaves (Caja Negra’s public programs) and Carolina Jiménez (Hangar) about publishing strategies shared between editorial practice and musical selection, non-hegemonic technological positioning and various cultural activisms.
Afterwards there will be a DJ set by F.A.N.G.O. and Diamin with visuals by Chilean artist Carolina Obando.
Tecnologías Elementales is a record label recently founded by one of the editors of Caja Negra, Ezequiel Fanego (who has been working as a DJ for years under the name of F.A.N.G.O.) and Diamin, a Chilean DJ with a long career who currently lives in Berlin. Their shared passion for musical research, as well as for universes of interests as diverse as environmental sciences or cybernetics, led them to conceive this platform to disseminate emerging musicians with a special interest in promoting generic hybridizations and connections between artists from Latin America and other regions of the world.
