Laringe, oscilador
Laringe, oscilador (LO) is a collective vocal practice that attempts to string together techniques, devices and metaphors typical of sound synthesis, such as the oscillator, envelopes, filters or presets. The attempt to bring synthesis to the vocal apparatus is also an encounter with the conditioning factors of the body, its organic imprecision, lung volume and rhythms. LO is built as a practice out of these frictions. LO began in 2023 as part of the Practicable research line of Hangar and continues with an open group in El Pumarejo.
Jaume Ferrete Vázquez works as an artist, teacher and researcher around the notion of voice, through performances, listening sessions, archives, workshops, conversations, sound works and websites. He has collaborated with several institutions (MACBA, MNCARS, MUAC UNAM, Secession, UOC, BAU, UPV/EHU, TEOR/éTica…) and received several awards (Generación 2016, Becas Leonardo Fundación BBVA, OSIC…). He is currently developing research into synthetic voices and performance.
T. Modet
T. Modet, aka Lydia Gonzalez, is a DJ whose music collection spans a wide spectrum of styles and offers endless possibilities. Her eclectic sets start at a slow, warm tempo and then take the audience over the top with sharper, more somber beats. T. Modet’s deep connection to music was forged during his travels around the world from an early age. In his early years in Seville, he immersed himself in genres such as flamenco, rock, folk and soundtracks before moving on to electrified styles such as tech break, house, electro, balearic, downtempo and breakbeat.
