Joan Cabrer

Joan Cabrer, Mallorca 1983

Period of residence: November 2009 – November 2011

Joan Cabrer’s paintings place an accent on colour and form in an attempt to reflect, through the canvas, a world that is inaccessible to the eyes of man. References such as microscopic or scientific photography are tools that open up new horizons for the viewer, although the most productive mechanism for this will always be that of the imagination. He deals with subjects such as the fusion and confrontation between nature and the artificial, the intrusion of machines into the development of life, pollution, mixed race, and death.
