Eulàlia Valldosera

Eulàlia Valldosera (Vilafranca del Penedès, 1963)

Period of residence: January – April 2007

A pioneer moving between various disciplines and starting with the body as a measure and receptacle for apparent reality, her latest installations make us consider confrontation with other bodies. Her photographs explore notions of sexual identity, love, illness and death, as well as questions related to memory and the way in which we reconstruct our past. Lazos Familiares (2012) considers the dissolving of conventional family norms. The classic and stiff family portrait is subverted into a framework where various moments in time, both real and imaginary, are superimposed in one image which allows us to deal with the reconstruction of the family shadow.
