Joan Saló, Igualada (Spain) 1983

Joan Saló lives and works between Barcelona and Berlin. He graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona in 2006. His work has been shown in several solo and group exhibitions. Solo exhibitions include: “Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur” (CCA Andratx, Mallorca, 2014), “Radiance” (N2 Gallery, Barcelona, 2013), “Monadism” (MAG, Elche, 2011).

Group exhibitions include: “Above and Below” (Galerie Derouillon, Paris, 2015), “Entangled” (Vesselroom project, Berlin, 2014), “XV International Call” (Luis Adelantado Gallery, Valencia, 2013), “Autumn reception” (Carmichael Gallery, New York, 2012), “Saló/Forese” (The White Gallery, Milan, 2010).

He received different awards and mentions as: Finalist in “Premio Lissone” (Lissone, 2014), shortlisted in “100 Painters of Tomorrow” Book (London, 2013), Finalist in the “Catalan Contemporary art biennial” (2012), Finalist in “Guasch Coranty International Painting Prize” (Barcelona, 2008). His work is part of important international public and private collections.

His recent work centers in the aspects of fleeting time and the structures of abstract meaning.
