Kirsty Stansfield uses her practice in research driven and based in the development of participatory processes. She employs a variety of media including video, sound, sculpture, installation, interactive technologies and dialogue.
Recently she has been exploring how sound can mediate people’s relationships to each other and to their physical environment. This has meant the creation of installations and performative scenarios, inviting an audience to directly engage with the situations she has created. This has included working with elderly women living in a continuing care home, a choreographer, dancers, musicians, actors, artists, a theatre director and computer programmers. She has done projects and exhibitions since 2004.
