Luis Bisbe

Màlaga, 1965

Period of residence: September – December 2002

The work of Luis Bisbe is characterised by its close relationship with the environment and by the variety of techniques he uses to transform it. In this connection he plays with the confrontation or clash of elements which, relocated in space, give rise to an explosion of meaning.
Stressing not the architecture itself but rather that which is housed in the space, he uses what there is as raw materials, proving that any action or construction that is performed alters the meaning not only of the place where it is located but also of the construction itself.
In recent years he has had solo exhibitions at La Casa Encendida, Museu de L’Empordà, CASM de Barcelona, Patio Herreriano and the CAC in Malaga.
