Sylvia Winkler & Stephan Köperl are the winners of the Façade Price 2016

We are glad to announce that the artists in residence Sylvia Winkler & Stephan Köperl are the winners of the Façade Price 2016 with their video work “Towards The Hague”, an approach towards the International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

During a bicycle tour to The Hague they sing a song whose lyrics are based on a research about the development and the pros/cons of this legal institution. Melody and setting are inspired by the movie ‘Ko to tamo peva’, a black comedy about a bus journey to Belgrade just before the air raid by the German Wehrmacht.

The Art Today will invite Sylvia Winkler & Stephan Köperl for a residency in Plovdiv in 2017, in order to produce a site-specific work for the Façade Video Festival these year.
