Paratext #74 with Sacha Rey, Estanis Comella and txe roimeser

This name, Paratext, hides a monthly program of performances by artists in residence at Hangar as well as artists on exchange grants. They present, in different formats, specific projects or parts of their work. The sessions are always open to the public with the purpose of enabling interaction with the artists themselves.

The next Paratext session will take place on Tuesday, February 20th at 7 p.m. in Hangar’s Sala Ricson.

Projects will be presented by:

Sacha Rey (Exchange residence between Marseille and Barcelona)

Sacha Rey lives in Marseille. They engage in a practice which they describe as “documentary dance” to interview the physical memories. They use the performing arts as a narratological medium with the intention of not awakening the traumatic memories of the people who testify. They are currently working on a documentary filmed from the point of view of a pink flamingo and about violence management tools that exclude punitive practices.

Estanis Comella (Medium-term residency)

The elements that make up his practice have a malleable component, seeking light materialities that adapt to the constant contact with the work. Starting from a latent sculptural sensibility, they lose information in each approach in which they try to configure atmospheres in which these materialities overlap and generate amplitude. It is in the difficulty of naming a certain temperature that underlies the whole of this practice that a poetic field is established, which floods supports such as publication, space or live performance.

txe roimeser (Long-term residency)

from a transfeminist practice and living with/from failure, txe activates investigations that start from the somatheque. from the everyday, they points out mechanisms of identity construction and they uses the cracks and margins to generate errors that reveal powers and fictions. trying to work in a situated way, they applies the appropriation and mutation of learned codes, thus opening possible spaces for other modes of ____, with the intention that which has been hacked could be used for the struggles that challenge they and can be shared and taken up by others. working with the everyday they entails that several tentacles are the interferences that modify the processes and makes they be anxious about what they have at hand and curious about the tiny bugs that are close to they. in their moves they is accompanied by a cage in which some time ago was the food and water of kaos – #kaosmorder a rabit-, with whom they they has shared rooms, days and nights on the road, breakfasts… and from whom they were able to learn to be in other ways. now the cage is a greenhouse, far from the mountain, for seeds that have been collected in the last house where they lived with kaos collectively with other animals and critters -non-human and human-.

Free entrance.
