Bacalao mini-workshop by Glen Fraser

On June 19, at 20:08 pm, Glen Fraser (Canadian member of Toplap Barcelona) presents an online mini-workshop providing an overview of “Bacalao”.

Bacalao is Glen’s set of live-coding tools for SuperCollider. It provides helpers for: musical pattern creation (inspired by the TidalCycles parser); playing VST and SuperCollider instruments; applying effects with “playable” parameters; sample playback and looping; binaural audio spatialization. Bacalao is primarily Glen’s live coding language and playground, so it will evolve and change according to his whims, but may still be interesting or useful to others. It makes no promises to be backward (or forward, or sideways) compatible. It’s a set of tools for making music on the fly, so — swim free, live in the moment, and let old code be old code.

For this session, some knowledge of the SuperCollider language and patterns will be helpful, to appreciate how the two complement one another.

Glen is a creative software developer who has worked in the interactive, immersive and performing arts since… the 20th century.

You can join the workshop on Toplap’s YouTube Channel.

The workshop will be given in English, but questions are welcome in Catalan and Spanish.
