Hangar participates in the Art i Part program

Patricia Fernández Antón has been the selected artist in residence to participate in the ART i PART program. Under the title Encreuaments, this laboratory of creation has arisen from Sala Beckett’s Les condicions del cervell and its objective is to generate links between the cultural facilities of the neighbourhood and with citizens in order to erase stigmas, break prejudices and at the same time offer artistic tools to give voice to a collective that is often invisible, misunderstood and discriminated against.

Apart from Sala Beckett and Fundació Joia, the proposal has several participating agents from Poblenou: Can Felipa, La Escocesa, Hangar and Districte de Sant Martí. The proposal is part of the Barcelona Districte Cultural de l’ Ajuntament de Barcelona project, more specifically in the ART i PART programme of community artistic creation in the neighbourhoods.

ART i PART promotes collaborative artistic creations where neighbours and neighbors are accompanied by art professionals in a research that uses diverse hybrid and experimental languages, ranging from the living arts to the visual and audiovisual or new technologies, always seeking a balance. ART i PART joins other projects in the community arts sector in the city of Barcelona which, for the last 15 years, have been promoted by various entities, artists and organisations. And it does so with a sustainable vision, not seeking to invent anything new but taking advantage of the existing fabric and accompanying it to create work teams or partnerships that want to work together.

This programme, curated by Eva García, is innovative in the Catalan and European municipal sphere, where there are no similar experiences.

This laboratory is part of the Barcelona Districte Cultural de l’ Ajuntament de Barcelona project.
