Paco Chanivet in “Zona prohibida. Ciencia ficción entre el arte actual”

The second part of the travelling exhibit “Zona prohibida. Ciencia ficción entre el arte actual”, in which the artist at the residence of Paco Chanivet participates, can be visited from March 2 to 22 at the Sala de exposiciones Juan Carlos I.

The artist in residence Paco Chanivet opens the first of the travelling exhibits “Prohibited area. Science fiction among current art “with the Red Itiner of Comunidad de Madrid. The exhibition can be visited at Sala de exposiciones La Estación in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, from February 7th to 28th.

Zona connects contemporary art and science fiction in an exhibition that brings together works by five young artists: Andrea Canepa, Ignacio Garcia Sanchez, Rosell Meseguer, Paco Chanivet and Jonathan Notario in which they propose a space to reflect on how the resources of science fiction they go through different forms of contemporary creation.

Through installations, sculptures, photographs and video, speculation is established in this forbidden zone as a way of thinking about the world around us from different perspectives. The variety of formats, materials, techniques and approaches that make up this sample generates a journey that, without neglecting the popular essence of science fiction, proposes a large number of readings, references and questions for all types of audiences.
