Sofía Montenegro presents Mover the Viento at LLUM BCN
Sofía Montenegro presents the installation Mover el viento at Hangar as part of the festival Llum BCN 2024.
Mover el viento is an installation that makes the invisible visible. It consists of lights and sounds linked to the functions and actions of the doors and windows of the Hangar building. Through a system of motion sensors, the circulation of air through the building, when inhabited and experienced, is transformed into a sensory experience. In this way, the work is a real-time image of what we do not normally perceive: the flow of air in a space. A lively, changing sequence of shots depicts the specific gestures that take place in the same space, either simultaneously or in a distributed manner: a window is opened to ventilate the studio, while another door is adjusted to allow access. Ricson’s space thus becomes a filmic shot whose narrative is nothing more than a gestural portrait of the building that contains it, in this case Hangar.
