Hamaca
Hamaca is an experimental audiovisual platform that functions as a reference archive of video historiography linked to the Spanish state. It is a non-profit association that aims to preserve, disseminate and distribute under decent conditions in the state and international level this type of pieces. Its catalog is completely digitalized and can be consulted on its website. The name HAMACA responds to the type of operating system under which it intends to operate: a horizontal network linked by several points.
Since the creation of the archive in 2007, the catalog is expanded every two years through public calls for entries and the selection of a jury made up of professionals specializing in video and visual arts. Hamaca also assumes the task -through collaborations with institutions around the state- of programming both screening sessions and workshops or research activities around the practices that cross video making. It also supports the production of new works through the Contrapicada call.
