Beyond the fact that Hangar bases its entire IT infrastructure on open source systems, the center’s commitment to this is reflected in the following services open to artists:

Hardware development

Hangar is involved in the development of tailor-made machinery, systems and programming for artistic projects from a commitment to open hardware and software, focusing on R+D+i in the field of technologies applied to creation. From this Lab we unfold and share a set of royalty-free tools available to artistic projects that may need them.

Hangar develops all kinds of hardware for artistic projects that require it, including the development of internal electronics, programming and construction of prototypes. Some examples of applications would be: real time interaction, data processing and visualization, synchronizations, mechanisms, automations, remote controls, etc.

Consulting

In addition to production services, Hangar offers consulting services for artists who are working on a project with hardware or free software and who are familiar with the techniques, but who occasionally need support to solve problems, reorient the development of an idea or explore technical alternatives. Consulting services are arranged by appointment.
